英語學習的“三座大山”:詞匯、語法、啞巴英語。
家長腦中還緊蹦著一根弦;應試。
那么,怎么學才能最有效地搬掉“三座大山”,放松緊蹦的弦呢?
我經(jīng)常對學生說“孩子,請不要背單詞”、“孩子,請不要學語法”,并不是說,我本人不重視詞匯和語法,而是不認同目前流行的學習方法:死記單詞拼寫和中文意思,硬背語法規(guī)則。
那么,詞匯、語法應該怎么去掌握呢?正確的方法是:在聽、說、閱讀實踐中不知不覺、自然而然地掌握。這里我只舉一個例子,我想就足以說明我的觀點。
比如,讓孩子學下面的對話(而不是和生活毫不相干的成人教材):
—What’s the meaning of this word? 這個詞是什么意思呢?
—You can look it up in the dictionary. 你可以查一下字典。
通過這組對話,可以學到:
3個新詞:meaning, word, dictionary
1個短語:look up查找(是中考頻繁考到的詞組)
1項語法:look it up(在look up等動詞短語中,如果賓語是代詞,要放在動詞和副詞之間,不能放在后面,只能是look it up,不能是look up it)。

簡簡單單的兩句話,就包含了這么豐富的詞匯和語法信息,還能應付這些多道中考題!那么,如果孩子掌握了500句、1000句這樣的日常用語,會是什么效果呢?我們還會為孩子的詞匯量不夠、語法不行、不會應試發(fā)愁嗎?還會因為孩子和我們一樣是“啞巴英語”而焦慮嗎?
家長們回去可以在孩子身上做這樣一個實驗:讓他反復聽上面的Look it up in the dictionary,直到會說,然后再考孩子是take it off正確,還是take off it正確(注意:這個問題不能經(jīng)常問,否則,孩子聽多了take off it,就容易搞混)。孩子在會說look it up之后,根據(jù)語感,一定能回答出是take it off正確。這種習得語法的方法,絕對比老師枯燥地講解語法規(guī)則,要學得輕松、自然、有效。
更為重要的是,這句話學會了就能經(jīng)常使用,而語言只有“拳不離手,曲不離口”才能變?yōu)榧寄,才不容易忘記?br />
